It is drinkable and a lot better than supermarket brands. Pura Vida is OK, but not nearly as good as I had hoped it would be. It just can't compare to our local varieties. I have not had much luck with coffees I have ordered on line. I live in the Seattle area and there is just too much really good locally roasted cofee available here.
As a true coffee lover, I highly recommend it. Pura Vida French Roast coffee is strong, delicious, and not at all bitter. Not only is it a first-rate product, but purchase of it benefits needy children.
When it comes to coffee (as with pizza). Not even close. Too bad for us, but some people evidently like it. People have different tastes, I guess, and in this case my wife and I were disappointed. you simply must consult your own palate. But we prefer the taste of the Starbucks by a rather wide margin. We ordered the Pura Vida French Roast on the recommendation of other buyers here at Amazon, thinking we could perhaps avoid the slight inconvenience of having to run to the nearest Starbucks shop to pick up coffee every couple of weeks. Pura Vida does not have the deep, full bodied smoothness of Sbucks whole bean French Roast.
I will be purchasing again. The price is doable for my budget. I have never bought whole bean coffee or fair trade, organic coffee before so my limited experience may not be worth much. I love the coffee and it tastes great.
This one's a winner -- and their charitable policy makes me feel great, too. I love French roast but had been unsuccessful finding one that delivered the body and smoothness that I love.
